Introduction
With the passing of the Prevention of Discrimination (Guernsey) Ordinance 2022, focus on discrimination, harassment and prevention of sexual harassment has intensified. The law will continue to develop over the coming years, with some new provisions being scheduled and others anticipated. It is important not to forget the Sex Discrimination (Employment)(Guernsey) Ordinance 2005 and, whilst not directly regulated by statute, all responsible employers want to prevent ‘bullying’ behaviours – not least because they are commercially counter-productive.
The following outline can be presented with three different approaches. The subject matter is similar, but the focus varies slightly:
- For employees who do not manage colleagues (2 hour session);
- For employees who do manage colleagues (2 ½ hour session); or,
- Hybrid – to cover both together (2 ½ hour session).
If you have your own polices/procedures already in place we are happy to review them and refer in the training. [We do, of course, also offer full employment handbook/policy reviews].
